AionRunnerSlim

So thanks to the genius of Greyshade of Griffon Knight on Telemachus, and the combination of my 1 sem of beginners C++ and 1.5 classes of VB, and a bit of google I’ve written a small program that remains on top of your game while you play, and provides you with a simple text box and server selection. From this you can easily lookup player essentials without the need for a separate computer or separate web page. Though there are a few conditions and things to keep in mind to make sure this app runs properly.
- Make sure Aion’s Screen Mode is set to “Window Full Screen” this lets other windows be selected without the shrink/grow party that erupts from alt-tab.
- Make sure your firewall/antivirus permits it freedom. I got one report so far that it gets flagged as malware, I’m guessing it’s due to the way it pulls xml data and whatnot… It’s clean so long as you download it from my web sites and/or I send it directly to you.
- Pressing Go or enter triggers the search. While the program is pulling the data off the net, it appears to stop responding, if you quit clicking on it and just let it sit it’ll come back in a sec. While not reassuring, it generally still responds faster then switching to a firefox window clicking back in the text field, typing and then scrolling for the player name per level. Basically, type the name, press enter and get back into the game and don’t die.
